Game of the Week — Lions vs. Bears Recap

The matchup of the week lived up to every bit of its billing as the Detroit Lions survived a major scare from the Chicago Bears, winning 34 to 28 in a game that came down to the final possession. Jared Goff was outstanding for Detroit, throwing for 312 yards and 3 touchdowns while leading two crucial fourth-quarter scoring drives that ultimately sealed the win.

Bears quarterback Caleb Williams showed the kind of resilience and talent that has Lions fans excited about the division for years to come, despite the loss. Williams threw for 287 yards and 2 touchdowns and nearly led Chicago all the way back from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit before falling just short.

The win pushes Detroit to 12 wins and 1 loss on the season and gives them a commanding lead in the NFC North with three games remaining. The Lions are now firmly in control of the NFC’s top seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. It was another statement win for a team that has looked like the best in football for the better part of the entire season.
