NFL Teams — 2026 Season Overview

The National Football League is made up of 32 teams split across two conferences — the AFC and the NFC — each divided into four divisions. Every team plays a 17-game regular-season schedule to reach the playoffs and ultimately compete for the Super Bowl championship.

At StatWizz, we track every team’s performance throughout the season, including win-loss records, points scored, points allowed, turnover differentials, and much more. Use this page to explore where every franchise stands in the 2024 season and get a sense of which teams are built to make a deep postseason run.

AFC — Top American Football Conferences

AFC EAST
Buffalo Bills — 10-3 — The Bills enter December as the clear favorites in the AFC East and one of the top seeds in the entire conference. Josh Allen’s two-way dominance has carried this team all season long.
Miami Dolphins — 7-6 — A disappointing season by Miami standards, the Dolphins have dealt with significant injuries on both sides of the ball. Tyreek Hill’s production has kept the offense afloat, but consistency has been an issue.
New England Patriots — 4-9 — A rebuilding year in New England as the franchise continues to find its identity in the post-Belichick era. The team is focused on player development and building toward the future.
New York Jets — 5-8 — The Jets have shown flashes of potential but have been unable to string wins together consistently enough to stay in playoff contention.

AFC North
Baltimore Ravens — 11-2 — The Ravens are the best team in the AFC and arguably the entire NFL. Lamar Jackson is playing the best football of his career, and the defense has been dominant from wire to wire.
Cincinnati Bengals — 8-5 — Joe Burrow’s return from injury has re-energized the Bengals, who are fighting for a playoff spot in a tough division.
Cleveland Browns — 3-10 — Injuries at quarterback have again derailed another Cleveland season, continuing the franchise’s frustrating run of bad luck at the position.
Pittsburgh Steelers — 8-5 — The Steelers remain competitive as always, relying on a suffocating defense to stay in games while the offense continues to find its footing under a young signal caller.

NFC — Top National Football Conferences

NFC EAST
Philadelphia Eagles — 11-2 — The Eagles have emerged as the class of the NFC, with Saquon Barkley’s incredible season powering a balanced offensive attack that very few defenses have been able to slow down.
Dallas Cowboys — 7-6 — A frustrating season in Dallas despite CeeDee Lamb’s elite individual performance. The Cowboys have struggled with consistency and remain on the outside of the playoff picture, looking in.
New York Giants — 3-10 — Another difficult year for the Giants, who are in the midst of a full rebuild after parting ways with several key veterans.
Washington Commanders — 9-4 — The Commanders have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2024 season, riding a young quarterback and an opportunistic defense to a top spot in the NFC playoff race.

NFC NORTH
Detroit Lions — 12-1 — The Lions are the hottest team in football and the early favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Jared Goff is having the best season of his career and the defense has been exceptional.
Minnesota Vikings — 10-3 — The Vikings have been equally impressive, and their head-to-head matchup with Detroit later this month could determine the NFC’s top seed.
Green Bay Packers — 8-5 — Jordan Love has lived up to his potential and the Packers are firmly in the playoff hunt entering the final stretch of the season.
Chicago Bears — 4-9 — The Bears are building around their young quarterback Caleb Williams and showing encouraging signs despite a difficult record.
